How were you woken up this morning??

Bet you didn't have a bat flying over your head at 6 am!! This is so crazy. We have to go through the whole process again. It happens on a weekend....so I have to wait until Monday again for them to pick it up and test it. Yuck!

Dave said he was proud of me because I didn't freak out like last time! Ha ha! Isaiah was in our bed sound asleep when I heard it and threw the covers over our head. Then Dave was mad and went to find it.

I wish I would have videotaped Dave when he was trying to catch it because it sounded really funny. He didn't have much upstairs to hit it with. So he took Isaiah's side bed rail and was trying to hit it with that. He also had a lot of sound effects. Isaiah thought it was funny.

So...please pray that this one is disease free too!!

We called an exterminator too...so hopefully they can figure out where they are coming in from.

Potty Training

When I posted the other night, I knew there was something else I wanted to share with you, but could not remember it for the life of me. It must be the pregnancy stealing all my brain cells away:)

We started training Hope Monday August 10th after all our company left. She has been ready to potty train but we have had so many things going on that the time was not right. She always told me when she went to the bathroom and to change her.

So we started almost 2 weeks ago...and I really dreaded it. I think because Isaiah seemed to have accidents all the time (still occasionally does when he does want to stop playing). But I finally started and my Mom helped out. I just needed 2 people to be there so that one could pay complete attention to her.

Needless to say...she is doing GREAT! She had very few accidents and the ones she did have were when no one was around for her to tell them she had to go. She does great on the car rides and can even sometimes hold it. (I take her potty seat with us in the car because girls are not easy to go to the bathroom outside.) I can't believe how easy she was (sorry Dani..not rubbing it in...Isaiah was really tough). I am very thankful that she was easy because I almost dreading having to potty train another one.

Great job Hopey!! We are so proud of you. (We say this every time she goes...and now she tell us she is so proud of us. She does it with this really sweet little voice and uses her arms and hands when she talks. She is so cute!)

Praise God

I did not have a chance to write about our incident over the weekend. But God has answered our prayers!

On Friday night, we were sitting in the living room while the kids were sleeping. We were both checking emails and about to go watch a movie. All of the sudden I caught something out of the corner of my eye. And I said to D "there is something in the house." I went to put the computer down and it flew right at me. It was a bat!! (Dave thought I meant a person so he wasn't as scared)I was screaming and running. Dave yelled at me to stop, but sorry that thing freaked me out.

We ran upstairs and shut all the doors so it was trapped downstairs. Dave called our neighbors to come over and catch it and I locked myself in the room with Isaiah and started crying. Now you all may be wondering why I was so freaked out. Well, a few months ago Dave's friend told us about how he had a bat in his house. He called someone to get it out, but they told him he had to catch it to make sure it didn't have any diseases or rabies. I guess if you are sleeping, you would not know if you got bit by a bat. So his friend caught it and sure enough it had rabies. They all had to go for a series of 5 shots over 6 weeks. Now you can imagine why I was so freaked out. I was worried about my kids and I didn't even know if I could get the shots because of being pregnant.

So, the neighbors came over (Joe and his two boys that are 10 and 11). Dave had 2 tennis rackets and Joe had a lacrosse stick. I kept calling Dave for updates. And at one point they lost it. Then I heard all this running and jumping downstairs. Joe caught it with his lacrosse stick and threw it to the ground. YEAH! Dave put it in a Tupperware container and put it in our back hall. The funny (i guess funny) thing about it was I saw some bats the night before flying outside (the neighbors told me they were bats) and I said...as long as they don't come in my house they are OK! HA!

Dave called the Dept. of Health to pick it up and they didn't come until Monday!! It was a lot of waiting and praying. But it paid off. We got the call today that everything is fine!

I wanted to share this with all of you because my gut instinct would have been to get it to fly out the door. So...if you ever have a bat, now you know what to do. HA HA!. Although, I will just pray you don't ever get one in your house:)

July 2009

I got to do this a little earlier than I thought. Dave took Isaiah to the neighbors hockey game and Hope is napping. They are all out of order because it wont let me move them around. Oh well. Here you go...

Isaiah and Hope being silly at the laundry mat. I had to get some massive wash done before all our company came so we went to our laundry mat. The kids love it! They had so much fun running around...they didn't want to leave. Surprising!!

Dress up time with our cousins! Hope shared really well...except there were always fights with the shoes. Guess I will have to get more next time:)

Awww....Hope loves Momo!
My friend Melanie who I have known since middle school got married!! It was such a fun wedding.
So cute!
Hope always had to be near Momo!

Another one from Melanie's wedding. (My blog wont let me arrange my pictures. So they are all out of order). And of course Dave and I never got a picture together. I need to remember to take them when we get all dressed up!
A birthday party we went to. Isaiah had such a blast!
It was a gymnastics party. He loves to jump and climb!
Dani...this is the only picture I have of your family. I must have been horrible with the camera. I hope you post some good ones of the trip!
Best Friends!
Darien Lake...Isaiah LOVES rides! And Dave got stuck going on all of them since I am pregnant.
Isaiah at dinner with us. He wanted to leave before the food came. The nice bartender put on a Monster Truck Jam. He LOVED it!
Same trip to Darien Lake. Hope does not like to go on the rides, but loves the water. Well, with me she does. She fell in while Dave was with her and was a little afraid of it for awhile (the water was freezing!)
Isaiah driving his dream truck.
Hope being silly.
We went to Doug's football camp one night and the kids loved watching it. Before we left Isaiah wanted to run around a "racetrack"...haha! He ran the whole way and wanted to keep going. It was a 1/4 mile long. He is definitely my runner!
My silly kiddos. Isaiah found his Halloween costume and wore it for a few days in a row. He even wore it in public! It was cute but it was so hot out for him to wear it. It likes it because he pretends he is a pit crew and fixes all his cars(aka..bikes!)
Hope ran too...but not the whole thing.
We have a ton of raspberries in our yard. The kids go out and pick them with their Daddy almost every morning. And I know when they do...Hope comes home looking like she has war paint on! Ha ha!
Hope is finally getting better with dogs. She LOVES Buddy. She walks him all the time (well he walks her) and she holds him on her lap!! So crazy for the girl who was so scared of them. I think she likes him because he is so little.
Italian Fest...on the rides again! This was the world's longest roller coaster ride. Good thing they all liked it!
Peace Aunt Kerri!
More rides...
Aunt Carrie had to ride with Momo.
Isaiah's new bike! Two wheels...and training wheels. The day we got this it was raining so, it rode it in our garage for 3 hours!! He passed out that night within minutes and slept straight through! Wish he would do that every night:)
This was so cute. They got a lemonade to share and instead of passing it back and forth...Hope turned around and they took turns taking sips.

Relief

Ahhh....the first trimester is almost over. This is the sickest I have been with any of my pregnancies. I didn't actually get sick, but I was just nauseous all day and very tired. This past week, I finally am feeling better and have a lot more energy! Yeah!

I know I haven't posted in awhile. I will try and upload photos soon. I have a ton of them. Dave's family was in town the past month...and my memory card is full. Hopefully later this weekend I will get to it.

Hope you are all well:)
