Tired

I have not written in a few days because I have been exhausted!! Isaiah is not sleeping well...and we always seem to blame it on him teething..but I have to say I actually do see one coming in! But who knows why he doesnt sleep. We have tried so many things and maybe he is just not a sleeper. Dave always says....since he doesn't want to sleep now...when he is a teenager and wants to sleep in...he is not going to be able too! Haha! Poor Isaiah=)

Dave was suppose to travel this weekend to Buffalo for a retreat, but since they still don't know if it is on or not...he is not going to go. He wants to spend time with his family! Awww...he is so sweet!

But...Dave is going to be traveling next week so my sister-in-law, Danielle, is coming down for a few days to spend time with me and Isaiah! Yeah! We are so excited. I am sure Isaiah and Makenzie will have so much fun. Too bad Ana couldn't join us too!

We have been eating a lot at home lately. Dave and I take turns making dinners. He loves to grill and I have been trying out new recipes so I will be better at them by the time the new baby arrives. We love spending time together and eating as a family. We don't feel so stressed to eat fast at a restaurant or entertain Isaiah....although he usually is entertaining us at the dinner table. It is so nice to sit down and eat together every night. I cannot wait for the new baby to arrive to add to our family and our mealtimes. How exciting! Tonight we are making BBQ wings and fun fries!!! I hope they are good!

TV

I almost forgot....

We never really watch TV at all unless it is college football until of course January comes around. There are two shows that we watch and love....24 and American Idol. Since 24 is not on until 9pm we tape it and watch it the next day....I cannot wait to watch it today. So for all of you watch it on Monday night....don't tell us what happens!!!

I should have known

Every time Isaiah has a good night and I tell anyone about it....the next night is usually horrible...and that is exactly what happened. Poor Isaiah had a rough night again last night. I think he had a stomach ache again. He would just wake up screaming and tossed and turned all night long. Poor baby! I wish I could help him when he is in pain. I guess we will just take it one night at a time.

Routine

Isaiah is such a trooper. We have traveled so much during his first 14 months of life. We have visited family, gone on vacations, gone on business trips....and all were usually in a different time zone. Its amazing how well he does adapt and is so happy and outgoing....BUT I am sure that is why is has problems sleeping.

Last week we started a routine for nap time and so far it has worked out pretty good. So I started a new one for bedtime now too....since last week he would not go to bed two nights in a row. Last night instead of giving him water when he woke up...we tried milk. I think it worked a lot better. (Maybe he is just hungry??) I will have to keep all of you posted...but he slept from 7:30-1:30...then was awake until 2:30 then slept until 7! Wow! Hopefully we are on to something here.

The good news is that we (meaning me and Isaiah) will not be traveling for 5-6 months so we hopefully will figure out what he needs....and who knows...maybe eventually he will sleep through the night!

American Idol

I almost forgot. Isaiah was so cute last night. He would not go to bed last night so we let him stay up. I think his teeth are really bothering him. Anyway, since Isaiah loves music we let him watch some of American Idol with us. We pulled up his little chair and he was eating some cheerios, and watching TV. It looked like he was eating popcorn watching a movie. But the funniest part was that every time a person came on that was a bad singer he would make a face like what is that....it was so funny. Thought that you would all enjoy that story!

Do I have the best husband or what?

I bought a crock pot when my mom was out and we cooked a meal in it and it was so yummy. So I finally went out and bought stuff to make terryaki steaks for last nights dinner. It smelled so good all day. But...when I went over to take it out...it burnt all to the sides of the pan and it was just horrible. I was so upset since I had planned this great dinner. So when D came home he was so good about it and just went outside and cooked on the grill for us. Then...he offered to vacuum the entire house...(which is pretty big). He is so good to me! He said vacuuming was his job when he was growing up...and he is really good at it. Thanks Mrs. Socha!! And thank you D!

Tested!

I am definitely being tested to see how much I can handle...I have not been very patient the last few days.

Please remind me why we are renting???

We are renting a beautiful home and it is very close to where we lived but...we have had such problems since we moved in here and...since it is not our home we cannot just fix them...we need to get approval first!

Yesterday our washing machine broke...could it have come at a worse time...Dave just returned from Hong Kong with so much laundry! So I waited for the repair man to come today. He finally comes and then I have to call to get the charges approved. Well...the landlord decides he is going to buy a new washing machine....So I still have completely soaking wet towels...lots of laundry...and no idea when I am going to have a new washing machine...not to mention that I will have to sit around another day waiting for them to deliver and install it....UGH!

And to make matters worse...I don't even have a car right now so I am trapped!

Sorry to vent...but at least I feel better now and I won't take it out on you! (Sorry D...he had to listen to me complain when he came home for lunch=) I love you!)

Finally Arrived!

Our friend Cyndee sent Isaiah's birthday gift and Christmas gift over a month ago. It must have been misplaced since we moved and with all the holiday mail that we finally received it today. I thought that all of you would enjoy these pictures. Thanks Cyndee, Steve, Macy and Samuel!

Also...someone else called us today and their mail was returned to them. So if you haven't heard from us about something that you sent, we haven't received it yet. So let us know. Thanks!

Getting back to normal

D is finally home from Hong Kong...yeah!! It did seem to go by fast though...but I am so glad that my mom was able to come out and stay with me while he was gone. We had so much fun shopping and playing with Isaiah that I didn't have time to keep up writing to everyone.

It was a long day though yesterday and Isaiah did not sleep well...meaning none of us slept well. So we are all exhausted and will be napping today and trying to catch up on things again.

We hope you are all well. And hope to catch up with you all soon!

Prayer Request

My husband just told me the most upsetting story.

A friend of a friend has 6 children. Last week the mom was giving three of the children a bath. She finished the bath, took them all out and got them all ready for bed. Then, she went back to empty the bathtub and found her 10 month old son inside. He must have climbed in while she was gone. The family just found out today that he is brain dead.

I could not even imagine what they are going through. All I can think about is Isaiah and all little children that I know and it could have been any one of them.

This family is a family of faith, but I am sure they need prayer for strength and guidance at this time. Please keep them in your prayers.

Well not exactly as planned

After writing yesterday's post...everything changed. Dave is on his way to Hong Kong and my mom is on her way here. Haha! Tell God your plans and everything changes!

I am glad that Dave is going to Hong Kong. He has not been there in almost 3 years...since we went together for a wedding. We did try and go another time, but on the way there he ate sushi on the plane and ended up with food poisoning! It was not fun! I wish I could have gone with him, but with the 15 hour time change, Isaiah, and being 6 1/2 months pregnant...I didnt think it was a good time to go...Maybe again someday!

My mom...who is such a blessing to us...is on her way out here. I am so glad that she is retired and is so flexible to find out yesterday that she was coming out today. She is such a help! It is just nice to have another person around...especially all day just to talk to. Plus Isaiah will love seeing her again! Not to mention that I have a shopping partner! Yeah!

Feel free to call and check in on us!

We are finally home!

After being gone so long I feel like I have been running around trying to catch up on everything here. The groceries, banking, errands....it has been nonstop. Plus with Isaiah being sick and not sleeping well...we have been kind of tired. BUT after yesterday...we finally feel at home.

We had our normal Sunday outing like we usually do when we are in town...and it was so nice yesterday. We always spend the day down in Santa Moinca. We go to the same restaurant and stores and then attend the youth mass at our church St. Monica's. It was so nice to see everyone. We were greeted by so many friends that we hadn't seen and got to catch up with a few of them. We also had a chance to talk to Monsignor and catch up with him as well. It was so nice to feel so welcome at our church. And of course Isaiah loves the youth mass. He is always dancing to the music and making silly faces and waving to the people around him. He brings a smile to so many people...what a blessing he is!

We love our church...they have amazing music and the best preaching! That is one thing we will miss when we eventually move. It is so hard to find a good church where you just feel at home.

Scary moment yesterday....as we were walking from the parking garage to lunch, I was carrying Isaiah since we just woke him up from his nap...and I tripped! It was so scary...I though I was going to fall, but at the last second I grabbed onto D and he saved me. My stomach and back hurt a little yesterday...but i am feeling great today...thank God! There were some people passing by when it happened and just continued on walking....I guess we are truely home. That is one thing I wont miss! haha!

New Outlook on Pregnancy

When we were in Buffalo a few weeks ago, Dave and I went to see The Nativity. It was a great movie and definitely gave me a new perspective on being pregnant.

Today we complain about being tired and uncomforable but...could you imagine being Mary?? She was 9 months pregnant and riding on a donkey for at least 10 days. She endured cold and heat and hardly had any food. She delivered a baby outside with no doctor or way to clean the baby. Then, she has to leave almost right away and travel 2 weeks or more to reach Egypt. Again on a donkey and carrying a newborn. I could not imagine what pain she was in or how she was able to do this, but it makes me think of how good we have it and to enjoy every moment of being pregnant.

Many of my friends and family are expecting this year: Judy~Feb. 5th, Tracy~March 12th, Jen~July 8th, Jill~July 10th and Carrie~July 2nd. Please keep all of these women in your thoughts and prayers. Thanks!

Many of you asked how to comment on this site. Here's how: You click on the comment link after each entry and write your comment. Then you chose other and type your name. Then click publish. You do not have to sign up for anything. Hope this helps.

Excited Parents!!

Isaiah took his first steps yesterday. Yeah!!! The first one we just thought was a fluke....but then he did a four or five more times. Of course when we tried to video tape him, he stopped and wouldn't do it again. We will try and tape it and I will try and post on here. Hopefully he will let us tape him soon!

Accepting Change

Change is one thing that is very hard for me to accept.

I went to the doctor yesterday for my 28 week check up. Everything is great with the baby! I just dreaded going because my doctor added a new doctor to his practice and I was not a big fan of her the first time I met her. She was not very personable...and she didnt laugh at any of D's jokes...haha! But I didnt get that warm and fuzzy feeling that I have with my doctor. And that was one of the reasons we did not move before the baby arrives.

That being said....I know this new doctor is now delivering 10% of the babies and my doc would not have added her to his practice if she was not good at what she does...so I went in with a whole new attitude yesterday. I did not want to go into labor dreading if she was going to deliver our baby. After waiting 45 minutes in the room though...I started to get a little impatient for two reasons...First because I never wait that long. And second, Isaiah was home sick and D left work early to watch him. I finally asked if she was coming in. Good thing I did...No one told her that I was there!!!! They are switching to an all computer system and did not have many patients yesterday.

When she came in she was so apologetic and extremely nice. She was more personable this time. Maybe she was having a stressful day the first time I met her. One thing is for sure, I am so glad that I was patient and more open minded going in. First impressions may not always be right. And now I am not so worried about when I go into labor. Either doctor will be great!

Anyways, my doctor does need a break. He hasn't taken a vaction in over 15 years because he is so devoted to his work and bringing little miracles into this world everyday! What an amazing blessing!

If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude.

Happy New Year!

I know it is January 2nd...but we traveled all day yesterday and we are finally home after almost three weeks! We loved seeing and visiting everyone. We went to Buffalo and West Palm Beach to be with family for the holidays because family is what it is all about. We were not able to see everyone but hopefully some people will travel this way and come and stay with us. We are always welcoming visitors. And since I am no longer able to travel (since I am in my third trimester tomorrow!) you will all have to come to California if you want to see us!! (or should I say see Isaiah since Dave and I dont really count anymore!)

So what are everyone's new year resolutions???
My New Years Resolution: To find time to read everyday! (challenging but with the help D I will accomplish this goal!)

I will try and post some pictures later of Isaiah...but since my camera battery went dead at the beginning of our trip...there wont be very many. Hopefully I will get some sent to me via email (Mrs. Socha, Kristine, Kerri, and Dani =)

We did not sleep to much last night and since Isaiah is sleeping right now...I think I am going to nap too! Please comment and let me know that you visited my blog!

Love to all!
